There are few things more stressful for parents than the holiday season. We’re also not talking about the one-two punch of Thanksgiving and Christmas, but the smaller ones that occasionally seem to pop up out of left field. Easter has a significant meaning for many different people. For some, it’s a time to observe religious ceremonies; for others, it’s a time associated with the easter bunny and painted eggs. We’ve thought up some clever crafts for the kids to partake in that will make this holiday enjoyable (not to mention affordable) and one that they’ll look forward to each year. 

Egg Dying

Tried and true and always a pleaser, getting some boiled eggs and dying them or having your kids decorate them with their favorite designs is an enjoyable activity that costs very little. Another craft that can make Easter morning extra fun is having your kids paint funny faces on eggs, watch you crack them open, and cook them for a healthy breakfast. 

Jelly Bean Hunt 

Another Easter activity that never ceases to please is the hunt for the Easter Bunny’s eggs that it leaves behind each year. Of course, the aspect of hunting for real eggs might not be appealing to kids. This is why simply taking some jelly beans or foil-wrapped chocolates and placing them in easy-to-find locations throughout the house can be exciting and rewarding when the spoils are captured. If you have more than one child in your household, making them color-coded can enhance the thrill of the search. 

DIY-Baskets 

These are always fun to do and can be repurposed for other uses after the holiday. There are many different items you can use to make baskets. A quick trip to any craft store can get you everything you need: loose fabric, construction paper, a plastic bucket, and some glue and glitter, and you’re good to go. If you really want to get creative, you can ask your child to pick some items from around the house that can be used to make a basket, and you can build it together. 

No matter what you decide to do this Easter, plenty of low-cost crafts can make it one to remember.
