With Easter right around the corner, it may be time to start preparing some Easter-themed arts and crafts for your kids during the coming weeks.
Fortunately, you don’t need to fret. Our ABC West Childcare Development Center team has discussed five Easter arts and crafts activities you can do with your children. Best of all, they are easy and involve simply recycling much of what can be found around your home. Let’s dive in!

What Are The Best Easter Arts & Crafts For Kids?
You don’t need to hastily search the internet for craft ideas this easter. Below, you will find the five best Easter arts and crafts activities for kids:
- Easter Bunny Masks
Kids are bound to love wearing an Easter Bunny mask and running around the house. Luckily, crafting Easter bunny masks isn’t hard. Grab some cardboard to cut out the bunny’s ears, a paper plate, cotton wool, and a bit of elastic or string to hold it secure and gather the kids.
You can have your kids cut out the bunny ears and stick on some cotton wool. Next, add a bit of glue or tape to secure them to the paper plate and draw on the whiskers and face. At this stage, you can use scissors to cut out the eyes and a stapler to staple some string or elastic onto each side. That’s all it takes to create a cute Easter bunny mask!
- Decorated Easter Eggs
Decorating Easter eggs is a much-loved tradition in many households, allowing children to embrace their creativity to their heart’s content. Simply put together some supplies from what’s already available in the house.
For instance, colored cotton wool (which can be made by simply dipping white cotton wool in some food-colored water and leaving it to dry), old buttons, and pipe cleaners (which are great because you can twist them around and make various shapes).
However, if you don’t have pipe cleaners, you can simply cut paper strips into varying shapes and stick them on as a substitute. With each of these items, you and your children can decorate some eggs and make them festive for Easter.
- Handprint Chickens
Handprint chickens are a great keepsake or an excellent gift for grandparents or loved ones. All you have to do is cut out an egg shape, trace your child’s handprint, and then cut it out to form a chicken’s wing. Next, you can add a beak, feet, and some eyes to finish the look.
It may seem like a lot of effort, but this arts and crafts project is quick and easy to undertake—even for little ones. While they may not be able to do the cutting, they can still use their handprints, which you get to keep as a memory of how tiny their hands once were. So cute!
- Easter Egg Dying
Easter egg dying is a super easy Easter arts and crafts activity that requires only some boiled eggs (white eggs work best for clear designs). Simply boil however many white eggs you’ll be decorating, then have your kids draw on them with crayons using any design they wish.
Once the eggs have been decorated, fill some bowls with different-colored water using food dye and dip the eggs in one at a time. The water will change the eggs’ color except where the kids have drawn their crayon designs. Neat, right?
- Easter Bunny Rolls
If you have any empty toilet rolls lying around, don’t throw them away. Instead, you can use the toilet tube for many great arts and crafts activities, like these Easter bunny rolls. You can utilize the toilet roll tube as a tall bunny or cut it in half to create little half-bunnies.
You can let your kids paint them brown (if they aren’t already), and then, if they are old enough, you can have them cut out some ears and paint them, too. If they are too small, you can cut them while they handle the pasting and painting.
Additionally, if you have some googly eyes, you can have your kids paste them into place, but if not, you can always paint them on, along with the nose and whiskers.
