The Fourth of July is a time to celebrate freedom, family, and fun! Here at ABC East Child Development Center, we believe that festive crafts are a great way for kids to get into the patriotic spirit. This year, why not try some of this no-fire, easy-to-machine crafts with your little ones?

Fireworks Extravaganza!
- Sparkle and Shine: We love this classic craft! Tape paper plates together to create a secure base for your fireworks display. Then, let your child’s creativity explode with paints, glitter, and markers. Don’t forget to add pipe cleaner “trails” for extra pizazz!
- Fizz, Pop, Boom!: For a twist on a traditional craft, try creating erupting fireworks! Cut construction paper into star shapes. Glue them to the bottom of cupcake liners. Let the kids decorate the liners with red, white, and blue paint. Then, for the grand finale, add a drop of baking soda to each liner and watch the “fizz” erupt when you add a little vinegar! (Adult supervision is recommended for this activity.)
Patriotic Pinwheels!
- Pinwheel fun is a perfect way to celebrate the Fourth of July! Cut out squares from red, white, and blue construction paper. Decorate them with markers, stickers, or glitter. Then, following established instructions (easily found online), help your child fasten a brad (thumbtack) to the center of each square and attach a pipe cleaner as a handle. Watch your pinwheels twirl in the summer breeze!
These are just a few ideas to get you started!
At ABC East Child Development Center, we are passionate about fostering a love of learning and creativity in our students. We encourage you to celebrate the Fourth of July with fun and festive crafts that the whole family can enjoy!
Happy Crafting and Happy Fourth of July!
